"and most of the time just had nothing to say to any old friend."
oh yes. i went thru all of this. a best friend of 9 years meant nothing to me anymore after most of senior year went by.
i thought the rebuilding my life thing would be the best thing ever. then i realized im going to have to do it again in 2.5 years because the people at Penn are all going to disperse to different parts of the country once we graduate. to me these feelings never end.
anyway, this part of my rebuilt life will be good while it lasts.
high school "friends" (mainly the ones in my grade, who were my friends for years) got really stale and really ridiculous after a while. thats why i dont have them anymore.
anyway, idk if you can make sense of what i just said...it may have been incoherent, but whatever. :-)

But I understand what you're saying and I can see things like that happening.

And everyone thought I was such an emo bitch last year. This was the exact same thing I went through. At college I made good friends, in the like 3 months I was there. I know I will keep them for life.

FYI college is not just all fun and games, as I am proof. Don't feel forced if it doesn't feel right. Just make sure to make some good friends where ever you decide to go. And keep them close.
