*sounds vaguely bored*

Is black or red a more preferable color for a banquet? It's been a long time since I've gone to one.

Good morning, and I hope that I didn't wake you all too early. Rising early is good for you, though. My name is Ariane Emory, and I will be with you as one of the doctors on the Amestris. ( Read more... )

Black does go with everything.

It does at that. I think that one will be best, then.

Hope is such an empty thing and space is such a valuable commodity.

There are available cupboards and lockers for your own supplies, but whether you will find sufficient space for a laboratory remains to be seen -- some us have already taken up a little room for ourselves.

[He sounds testy.]

As for arranging it for you... you will have to come here and see whether what you find left over will be suitable. As I said, much of the free space has already been accounted for, but if you are particularly insistent on the subject, I daresay something can be worked out.

Incidentally, I am Professor Joseph Hojo.

[She sounds pleasant and non-antagonistic, though definitely set in her course.]

I agree. Much of what we have left to us is our work, and Lt. Commander Chase has offered me what space he had claimed. I don't have much with me, and what there is won't impinge on your area too much. I'll be down within the hour to arrange things.

A pleasure, Professor Hojo.

[He doesn't sound pleasant at all. He's too grumpy to ever manage that, even if he was in a good mood.]

Very well. I will await your arrival.

Wouldn't it depend on what sort of impression you're trying to make?

Lieutenant Link Éspirit, at your service. We'll probably get to know each other, quite well, Miss Emory.

Of course it does. Tonight, for first meeting such a large group of people, something more conservative will do.

Oh, will we? Do you have a medical condition that I should be aware of?

Then black, I take it?

Only one. I seem to have fallen for you, after hearing your voice.

Black, yes.

Oh really? And you don't give a damn what the body that's attached to the voice looks like?

I'm sure that could be done, I don't need my own area and I don't think the other doctor would mind if you claimed a small area for yourself.

...where are my manners. I'm Lieutenant Commander Robert Chase, and I'll be one of your co-workers.

Thank you, Lieutenant Commander. It will be a relief to get what little equipment I have set up and ready for use. You're also one of the doctors, aren't you? I hope to meet my colleagues at the banquet, whenever the hell that's going to end up happening.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Emory. When would be an appropriate time to stop by? I have some records to drop off.

I will be in the infirmary in half an hour, and expect to be there for two or three hours after that. You can drop by any time and hand the records off to me. Do you have a condition that the infirmary should know about?

I'll be by in an hour or so, then.

And I do, though my medical records explain most of it.

Excellent. Thorough records make things so much easier, don't they, dear?
