For the joyful merging of head and desk

So I finished my Yuletide story, at the absolute last minute (or rather within the last minute) but still ahead of the deadline. Remarkable, since I'd had writers block from the onset with this one, and was fully prepared to pull out something non-story-ish, like a 5 things list or something, or wring the stone until it bled my 1000 requisite words... right up until the night before last, when I was struck with the Hammer of InspirationTM. I churned out 5000 words between work breaks/lunch (involving the skipping of the holiday desert party, more's the pity) and then two good stretches last night, and by the end I was almost kinda sorta even happy with it.

And then I realized that I totally forgot to set my formatting appropriately. As if the stunning lack of italics wasn't bad enough, my em-dashes were reduced to double hyphens, and some of my paragraphs didn't break where they should and I have no idea why (but I blame the .txt format). So I'm going to take advantage of the lovely modgoddesses generosity in being willing to delete uploaded files to make room for the reposting.

Why do I get myself into these things?

In short, I am a dork.

That is all.
