I have a secret fondness for Spike/Dawn. Thank you for feeding it.
But you happened to bring up something I've been wondering about: If a vampire dyes his hair, won't it stay that way permanently? The dye would eventually wash out, I suppose, but it won't *grow* out....
Well, Spike was Billy Idol blond when he killed the last slayer ... and less so now. His hair's been longer and shorter. Female vamps have changed hair length as time goes by ... and there's a rumour Spike will go back to "natural" next season ...
So I guess in the Jossverse hair does grow. Maybe it's playing on the old wive's tale, that hair and nails grow after death. 'Cause it'd be a *bitch* to break of a perfect manicure in the afterlife and go forever with ragged nails...
See, that's the problem with me and vampires: I think too logically about them. How can Spike's hair every be any different, or Drusilla's? Why would you want to kiss someone who feels like room-temperature meat? How can a vampire get it up without blood circulation? And so on.
Vampires have always left me--not cold, but lukewarm. :) But I enjoy watching Buffy in spite of that.
