I'm hooked, too. Of course the canon slash between two very handsome main characters appeals to me, but it's also the often controversial topics and situations they're dealing with that keeps me interested.
Although I find myself having to rewind some dialogues, especially with Owen and Rhys - their accents are hard to understand sometimes to my untrained ear ;)

A friend of mine whose first language is not English turns on the closed captioning for a lot of the TV she watches. I've done that too sometimes for Torchwood and other shows with characters with a heavy non-American accent. It helps, although the subtitles can be distracting.
