As a fan of Frank Miller, that he's a Conservative jingoist doesn't surprise me in the least, and heck, probably shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with his work. I'll be sad if any of this hurts his professional career, though. He feels Obama is ruining America and has had one too many glasses of Rush's kool-aid? Fine. That's not going to make me enjoy 300 any less, and it shouldn't. Too many people conflate an author's personal opinion or politics with the merits of their work--especially in this day and age, where an author's views are so much more prominent.

That being said, the man has no right to be talking about what makes or doesn't make a good film after directing the shitstorm that was The Spirit.
