So is this a sure thing now or does it still need a final sign-off? I'm hearing the Republicans are still trying to kill it, so I'm just wondering what the next steps are.

Not quite yet. The Senate still needs to pass the House's reconciliation bill.

I don't know... I just can't be happy about this bill.

All it is is a huge giveaway to the insurance companies. An enormous program to pour middle-class money into their pockets.

high-risk pools are ridiculous, as i'm sure you know. there's no access to health care when you can't pay the outrageous premiums.

no public option to challenge insurers, more "sweeteners" we can't actually pay for... no curbs on what insurers can charge... and government "subsidies" to insurers that will just go to fund more ten-figure bonuses.

the whole thing just feels so dirty.
