I still thinks it's fucking nuts how much I used to hate this lady.

God, I ranted and raved. "'Just Dance' is a shitty fucking song and a terrible influence on young women", etc etc. My friends still tease me about it.

Then what the fuck happened? Oh yeah, I actually took some time to watch her shit and listen. I mean, she's still a kid, going back and forth between giving hell to a Norwegian journalist by saying she's not a feminist, then later that year admitting to The Los Angeles Times that, yeah, she actually kind of is. She pulls heavily from her artistic influences, and I still hate about 25% of her music.

But despite all these reasons to hate her, there's still more reasons to love her. And I do.

I really fucking love her.

She's way too together, way too genuinely cool, way to smart, way too gorgeous. She's overwhelmingly right.

There are fuck all people on this rock who can tell basically everyone to fuck the hell off and still be absolutely on top.

I was too busy going "D'AAAWWWWW!" to get through the whole thing. Gaga is in a class unto herself here, and I think it's her unpretentious weirdness that really makes her likeable.

Oh, she can be plenty pretentious. You just have to remember it stems out of insecurity. She's getting much better at laughing at herself now, which makes me like her a lot more.

And yes, it's definitely her "weirdness"/"bowie-esque genderfuckery"/etc that first attracted me and continues to attract me today.
