The color and intensity as seen and appreciated by the human eye cannot be duplicated with a camera lens.  I tried to capture the lake and island in the middleground, but there was still a bit of morning haze.

Oh how wonderful,in just a few short weeks it has changed from Summer to Autumn. How absolutely gorgeous! From the elevation I would have to say you were close to Skyline drive.

We hiked up the face and came down Skyline Drive--reached heights above Dead Man's Curve. The air was getting thin and my legs were getting taxed. Kept thinking I wish I had some geo-cache stuff!
