Mike, abortion keeps coming into the debate, because it's a way to punish women for having sex. In particular, punishing them for having sex voluntarily. Thus explaining the facts that most people who are opposed to abortion are also opposed to contraception and the frequent exceptions for rape in most proposed anti-abortion laws. Leading both to convoluted arguments as to how various methods of brith control actually constitute abortion by preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg, and the convoluted avoidance of answering the question as to how an embryo should be held morally responsible for the actions of a rapist father

Anyway, with the humor section taken care of...

Actually, they really do want others to have sex. Those who desire power, realize that you can only control the innocent by brute force, but you can control the guilty by offering/witholding redemption. Sex is a popular area for rulemaking, because they know that nearly everyone will break some rule about sex, if they make enough of them. Whether religious or secular, sex is always a go-to for rulemakers, because they're certain the rules will be broken by many, and they hate the idea that someone out there might be innocent and, therefore, not under their spell.

Also, just as an FYI, today is "United Nations Day." I was hoping to get as many as possible to celebrate, so we'll need to each find local sourced for UN flags.

I presume we all already have lighter fluid...
