Operations Director

The Operations Director works in conjunction with the (2) Co-Executive Directors in overseeing Earthdance. The Operations Director specifically holds responsibility for the daily operations of Earthdance, overseeing the coordination and performance of tasks relating to on-site staff management, housekeeping, and the hosting of events. The Operations Director oversees and works closely with the Buildings and Grounds Manager, Office Manager, and Head Cook, as well as a team of Seasonal Staff. S/he lives on-site at Earthdance and oversees the general operations of the facilities.

The Operations Director selects, trains, and supervises Seasonal Staff, with the support of the Co-Executive Directors, as well as, monitors the residential life at Earthdance. Participants in Earthdance's Seasonal Staff Program work in the areas of housekeeping, kitchen support, buildings & grounds maintenance and office support. Through individual and group meetings, the Operations Director helps to create a constructive environment for work and artistic practice at Earthdance.

S/he attends weekly staff meetings, Core Staff meetings, and holds weekly seasonal staff meetings to set work goals, go over staff timesheets and discuss other issues of common interest and personal development.

S/he is in ongoing dialogue and planning with the Co-Executive directors.

Review
The OD will meet with the Co-Directors for performance review, supervision, self-evaluation, and project oversight/ prioritization. The OD will lead evaluations, orientations and reviews of the Seasonal Staff s/he supervises, with guidance and collaboration from the Directors.

Compensation

* Hours 30hours/week. The salary for the position is $750 - $900/month, depending on experience, in addition to being provided room and board on site at Earthdance.
* Benefits include (4) weeks of paid vacation time; the opportunity to attend many events free of charge; and connection to a diverse, creative community.
* Health Insurance: Earthdance does not currently offer a healthcare plan, though Earthdance staff generally qualify for subsidized insurance through the Massachusetts Commonwealth Care program.
* Commitment of 2 or more years desired.
