I was working as a medical assistant and I applied for this hands-on training course in phlebotomy for a well known lab in Hawaii. I've learned and had to do some phlebotomy at the clinic I was working at so I breezed through the course. Been working as a phlebotomist for the past 5 years now and I consider myself as well as my co-workers to be some of the best blood collectors out there. We work with cancer patients and the chemo hardens and thins out their veins so they're pretty hard to get blood from. But yeah that's pretty much the jist of it. I think you have to have some sort of schooling or training in it.
