Trying to figure and fix a glitch

Nov 22, 2014 11:15

I've had the past week off, so I did a bit of downloads sorting, and was trying to fix a problem I've had for a really long time, but have totally failed to do so, so I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced the same thing.

Can anyone help me? )

help, glitches, downloads

Don't remove files one at a time -- use the 50/50 method. First, back up. (Very important!) Then, remove half your files and see if the problem happens. If it does, then you know the problem is in that group of files. If it does not, then you know that half is fine. (See? You just saved yourself checking half your files one-by-one ( ... )

Seconding: I recommend compressorizing your backup and even burning it to a disk if you think your CC haul is too big. You can also do it, if you have some organization in your DL folder, by removing just bodyshop files at first, which should reduce your chances of pulling a hack or mod that could cause problems later on. (Back up anyway, though.)

It's gotta be a mesh that updates/interferes with standard male pajamas, so look for things that match the shape, even if they're not pajamas.

... Also, I know that anything with "sexyfeet" (no idea why they're called that, but they're more realistic feet shapes) can screw up meshes seemingly at random, mostly underwear or pajamas, and especially for some reason meshed that came with base game? I had that problem a long time back and ended up clearing a lot of stuff out of my DL folder from XMsims, that did the trick. I think there are also a couple AAS meshes that might be able to similarly screw around, but as I got rid of those and you run mostly Maxis Match if I remember correctly, that probably isn't the problem.
