While I wait for TS2 to install on my laptop, I churn out some UK Politics thoughts.

I inform and wind up ranting as usual. Bloody politics. )

politics, real life, *grr*

Fascinating! Do votes really not count for much in the UK though? I feel like they're pretty arbitrary here, anyway.

I think ours is pretty similar to yours in that respect; it's the swing states that make the difference, so if you live in what we call a 'safe seat' area your vote is going to matter far less because the politicians know what to expect, and it doesn't matter how much they win a seat BY, only that they win the seat. But I think you guys at least can vote differently between House and Senate and Presidential so you could vote different parties for different jobs. The only difference we have are like local councillors (pretty insignificant) and Members of Parliament (MPs) for national - no direct say on who's Prime Minister unless you do that via your MP vote, but then the best MP may not be with the party of the best PM.

Politics just drives me crazy really. It's why I prefer it fictional or historical and ignore the real stuff most of the time :/
