I had the port inserted again. Things went well. I had chemo after the procedure. I slept the entire time. Between being sedated from the port and the iv benadryl, I was out of it for about 8 hours. I'm slowly coming to now, but I'm still groggy. I just picked up dinner and now I'm about to eat. Just thought I'd post to let everyone know things ( Read more... )

it's a regular port. the same one i had before. i had the first one removed because i was so sure that i wasn't going to need it anymore. this one will stay in for a very long time.

thank you so much for your thoughts. i truly appreciate it.

funny.
that's what i say.
i couldn't believe that some of them have disappeared and every last spot they talked about had gotten smaller in the last month. that's two treatments. imagine what it will look like after 3 more (that's when i'll have my next scan).

i love it!!

I'm glad to hear that you are doin well...
I'm having my second chemo treatment tomorrow...
First was last week Wed...
I'm participating in a phase II clinical trial with a 3 weeks on 1 week off schedule...

Premeds put me to sleep too...
Slept through most of my treatment and the past few days (post-treatment)...
Was a lil bit disoriented here and there...
I'd walk into the kitchen and forget what I went in there for...that sorta thing...
But otherwise...
God is Good...
All is well...
I pray the same for you...

Be well, you are blessed...
Take care...

Of course I am praying for you too Noni.
I sometimes have those moments that I go to do something and I can't remember it when I reach the destination. It's chemo brain. I just laugh it off and see if it will come back later.

How is the 3 week on, 1 week off schedulre working for you? I know that it's probably rough, but you are strong.

I like the premeds that puts me to sleep. It's probably the best sleep I'll have until the next treatment...LOL

Take care of yourself and you, too, are blessed.

Is there a reason why you won't get the port in your chest again. Those PICC lines scare me. My aunt has one and she constanly struggling with her line.
