I tend to agree. I love Auster's work. Did you read the Book of Illusions?

I just discovered him thanks to one of my professors (who wrote an essay that's on paulaster.co.uk, here it is), we read New York Trilogy for a detective fiction course.

I really intend to read whatever I can get by him.
