dire *quasi* la stessa cosa
i've been reading umberto eco's dire quasi la stessa cosa, a book on translation and its negotiations.
what strikes me the most is how the (academic) world eco lives in is so alien and away from the reality of (consumer) professional writing and translation i know -

i love kyle baker's why i hate saturn: it's funny, intelligent, absurd and surprisingly well drawn. or, at least, it's just that i have a thing for artists who have expressive line work that looks immediate, fresh and not overworked. and a good use of blacks. and two-tone. yeah.
