Before I moved to Chippendale I detested public transport. Growing up in the far flung suburbs means that I've been able to just jump in the car an go where ever I like, whenever I like, since I was 17years old. Now I'm seriously contemplating selling my car once I'm done with exams on Monday. Thinking about this seriously has made me acutely aware

especially with the petrol prices right now, i'm in exactly the same position as you, well sort of...
i'm moving back to sydney in two weeks and will be living in the inner west and won't have a car and cannot WAIT to be carless!! it will just be so much better not having to worry about a car, the cost of it, blah blah.
yay for public transport in sydney - compared to auckland where i wouldn't be able to survive without a car....
check back with me in a month, i'll probably be grumbling about the state of transport but for now - i say go carless!
