Short discussion on Twitter with
neogeen and others, reminded me that I wanted to share something I'm happy/proud of that's not exactly easy to just blurt into the general internet or fit in 140 key-strokes, haha.
TL;DR - I'm trying a more minimalistic lifestyle. I started with what's "most important" to me, my wallet.
To the right is my old wallet (I'll miss the giant Triforce on it). And the left is my new "wallet" per say. Not only have I significantly decreased the size and nonsensical crap I was hoarding, but also have a more sturdy protective place for what little I realized I actually need.
Inside is just 3-4 things: condom (2GO ones also have a protective packaging), headphones, my cards (CWP, State ID, debits - held by a clamp) and my lip rings get tossed in while at work.
The initial point of motivation, was how Neo mentioned disliking purses because of the "disconnection" from the items. Sharing the same concern, I wanted to show I carry a "purse" equivalent thanks to my boyfriend passing it on.
Everything to the right (Paupou fruit <3) fits in my chalk bag. It's meant for rigging or rock-climbing actually. But to me, it serves as a sort of purse that is directly connected to me at ALL times. I slide my belt through the caribener/shackle (where my keys are also attached). ps: the flashlight to the left is not part of it usually. I LIKE TO BE PREPARED.
This is my EDC "every day carry". Chalkbag with all its contents. Leatherman and its holster (bottom left). Alexia and her conceal holster. And my phone case to the far right. Aside from work and legally discussed situations regarding my gun, I have all of this on me directly attached to my belt constantly.
And this is pretty much what it would look like (pardon, I don't really have casual photos of myself). Having EVERYTHING on my right hip is personal preference. My bf likes to separate the weight (carries just about all the same stuff) on both sides. But he also has a different chalkbag, larger phone, longer gun and smaller leatherman.
I suppose I just wanted to pass it on and/or share! It works really well for me, so maybe it'll inspire someone else. :)
