to a certain extent, but I'm sure that in some cases those who are dealing out the punishment (or reporting them in the case of my above mentioned incident) are extrapolating more than is reasonable. Being pictured obviously at a party with friends who are obviously drinking, doesn't mean that you are obviously drinking.

agreed, but in the case of the girl in my class, it happened off campus, which legally, is harder to deal with.
