I have had several memorable birthdays in my existence. I’ve had surprise parties, skating parties, swimming parties, keg parties, you get the picture. I feel uneasy about clowns as well. Not a phobia, not really fear, just... eeeeee. The epically unfortunate 60 seconds I happened to see of "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" really did not help.

I think the only clown that bothers me is Pennywise and others of his particular ilk.

I do know that a number of adults are "put off" by clowns, probably because they attended a party like this one and ran into a clown like Salty, and they may not remember the actual facts of the incident, but they sublimated it into their subconscious and now have a general unease about it. I know a number of celebrities who were just like that about it.
Here's hoping Salty got out early for good behavior!
