Edited to say that while I see why you need that scene with the airport official, it really goes against my grain that John would come home on a commercial flight. Shouldn't he be going on a military machine?
But then I'm no soldier and no people who've been to Afghanistan only very distantly, so it might be common.

hehe im glad you noticed the (alphabetically). i did it on purpose, to be honest. I'm a huge K/S fan so i have the privilege of knowing how to properly denote a slash pairing ;)

Hmm... if he was returning directly from Afghanistan then yes he would be on a military machine, but I wrote it like John was returning from a long stay at a Dubai hospital during which he was officially discharged.So I wasn't really sure about an ex army officer hitching a flight on a military machine. The scene with the airport official could have easily been done with a military official, but i imagined it with a civilian one. I suppose I wanted to bring out the abrupt change of status.

Or you could just assume that in this universe the military doesn't care about veterans. ;)
