Hey- I'd like to apologize for being a dork. During Sandy, I was posting to Facebook when I could to let people know we were alright, but it didn't occur to me to post here, as well. I don't think that's because I don't think about LJ any longer, rather it was because I was posting from my phone and doing my best not to use up all of my phone's

My part of West Virginia didn't get snow, and the hurricane turned out to be a non-event for us locally.

I was tearing my hair out with worry for various folks in NJ, not the least of which was my brother's family. He and his wife and their three kids, along with his wife's mother and uncles, and two dogs and three cats, are now all staying in my previously empty NJ house, which we had not yet managed to sell. I'm glad it worked out that it is there for them. Both houses, my brother's and his mother-in-law's, need extensive repairs, and they lost a great deal of their belongings, but they are OK.

It was incredibly windy and rainy here, but only a few branches down.

I'm glad you all are okay! Other than logistical inconveniences, we didn't suffer from the storms in any way. I've been able to make some small donations to hurricane relief through my church, for which I am intensely grateful.
