I discovered the meaning of the word irony this week. I made a bust in ceramics which came out unscathed save that one ear fell off. Ordinarily, I would have made a joke from the great plethora of earless jokes, yet in this class, one of my classmates is the only person I've ever seen in my life who only has one ear.
