Nice to meet you! My writing voice is definitely more of a non-fiction/essay voice than fiction. Although I do write some poetry and it's not as "hideously bad" (aka hilarious) as the stuff I wrote in high school.

I'd never mastered dialogue in my own work, lo those two decades ago before I abandoned fiction. But back in 2004 I had a chance to do editing work on a colleague's screenplay, and that gave me a fresh eye and a better appreciation of how HARD dialogue is to craft.
