I remember the videos of Yeltsin dancing like a monkey and making Clinton laugh. Never seen the 'throwing woman on sea' video but as Thailand blocked YouTube, I can't watch it.
And the people of Dublin, as well as every other part of Ireland they came from, stood waiting patiently for him the entire time. Not one person complained, despite what anyone might have said.
Its sad to see him go, granted he let himself go in later years but he was right at the heart of one of the major turning points in Russia's recent history.
Far fewer people have made jokes or pointed out his flaws than you might have expected, most people have been showing their respect, I find that nice.
