long update

Finally got my new camera yesterday and have been learning what all the lovely menu items and buttons do. I'm going to break one of my own personal rules and sit down and actually read the instruction manual cuz A) my *first* digital camera means that I really don't have a huge experience with them B) All the options and buttons are different from ( Read more... )

I have the same camera as you, only one version earlier (the s1) and I read the manual as well. Sadly, I still haven't figured out all of the advanced settings yet. I'm good with changing the shutter speed, film speed, and doing manual focus though. :P Let me know if you discover any tricks or cool features (although yours does have a few extras that mine doesn't have).

w00t, ya i finally figured out most of the basic stuff. I'll take a while to get used to how the camera works and make sure i can take consistently take good shots until i move on into the more advanced stuff.

Of course, a purchase of any camera marks the beginning of a constant drain on the wallet. You see, there are tripods, carrying cases, rechargeable batteries, extra batteries, possibly extra memory cards, etc, etc all that have to be purchased. Looks like a best buy trip for me this afternoon.
