This is Kaylee, a tortoiseshell kitten found by a friend of mine in Michigan, the other Amanda, who seems to have as unerring an eye for babies in need as I do.
Kaylee very badly needs a home, like, pronto, since she's been getting beat up on by other strays, and due to circumstances beyond her control, the other Amanda cannot bring the kitten into the house she's staying in (or there'd be more beating up, and flea transfer, and all of that). Frowny face. She's got shelter and food on the porch, and won't be going anywhere, but she needs a place to stay where she can be with people who will be able to take care of her.
Look at this face:
As you can see, she's totally adorable. Old enough to be away from her mama, but not old enough to defend herself against the wandering stray cats and dogs in her neighborhood.
A kid in the neighborhood donated some bling for the photo shoot!
Sleepy baby!
Can . . . barely . . . keep . . . eyes . . . open!
Sweet kitty tummy!
Look at her particolored chin!
Kitten toes! Kitten toes!
So precious!
She is a really, really sweet baby, very cuddly and purry. She has some scrapes and scratches; when the neighborhood kids found her, she was getting whomped on by another full-size cat.
Normally I guarantee shots and a clean bill of health to animals I try to find homes for, but this is one of those "kitten is far away from me, but needs a place to stay ASAP" cases where I'm not going to be able to do that. Still, besides the few nicks and scrapes, she appears perfectly healthy and will only need shots and a good flea bath.
Kaylee is in the Perry, Michigan area, just northeast of Lansing in the Lower Peninsula. If you could pass this along, repost, link, whatever, I am sure someone thereabouts would love to meet her. Tortoiseshell kittens are wonderful little critters, and I just know there's someone out there with as big a soft spot for them as I have.
The other Amanda can be reached by email at magee.amanda@gmail.com, or, because matters are a little bit pressing, she can be reached by phone at 512-657-4267.
Y'all are my miracle crew. Please, don't hesitate to get in touch with the other Amanda, and please spread this around! I know I pester you for this stuff a lot, but hey, what harm can reposting do when you're also spreading pictures of a freakin' adorable baby kitten?
Spread that love!
