Laptop experts?

I need a new  IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad.

Are there ans good US websites or stores where i can buy them?

I'm going to buy it when i'm in the us for Anthrocon.

[Brer] You won't be able to find them in stores. Well, Lenovo makes a line of laptops for sale in stores, but they are massively inferior to the ones you can get online and for not a lot more. (At least IBM always did -- I assume it is still the same, though I have not been in a computer store in years...)

Don't get one! They arn't worth it. Since IBM was sold to a chinese company there quality has really gotten worse.

GO with a Toshiba and you won't have any problems.

Well, after they became Lenovo they had big quality problems that is right.
But i have seen their latest models and they are definatly back to their old quality level.

Plus i can only work with their mouse point, i hate touchpads.

Maybe your right but I have not had any luck with the T-60's at work. They do fall apart.

Ok I have to ask, why the mouse point and not a touch pad?

I'm looking for the T61.

And i have no idea, i had a laptop with a touchpad and allways used a extra mouse.
But since i have the thinkpad i can work perfectly with the mouse point.

Denk nur daran, daß die Thinkpads in den USA ne andere Tastatur haben (ohne Umlaute und alle klammern woanders und soweiter).

*yap* dafür gibt es zwei lösungen:
- Deutsche tastatur kaufen für unter 100 euro
- Die Aufkleber die ich jetzt auch hatte

Und das schöne ist das sie Garantie für die Thinkpads Weltweit gültig ist :)
Und das Model was ich gerne hätte kostet drüben 470 euro weniger.
