Happy New Year! :D It seems all I post nowadays is the yearly New Year's meme, but it's a nice tradition. Overall 2018 was the best year in a long time, mostly because of something that you can read about under the cut...
1. What did you do in 2018 that you'd never done before?
I saw Bo Kaspers Orkester live. I went on an Interrail trip with Danne to Vienna, Prague and Berlin (and spent the night in Hamburg as well). Overall, it was such a great experience travelling far by train. The best vacation in a long time for sure! And OMG, I danced on stage during a Belle & Sebastian concert! :D Crazy! And the best thing of all, I (finally) got pregnant!!! ♥ ♥ ♥
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I had some goals but I haven't really fulfilled any of them, not even close. I also failed my modest reading goal of 15 books this year. I think I will keep a few of my goals for 2018 and work harder on achieving them in 2019. I want to take better care of my body and mind and also live even more sustainably and eco-friendly. But I realize I will probably be busy with other things as well. ;)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
One of Danne's brothers had a baby girl.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
I was shocked and sad to hear that the young man with Down's syndrome who was shot by the police in August was Eric, the brother of a girl I used to play with often when I was young. Me and my family have known his family for a long time and my heart breaks for them. :(
5. What countries did you visit?
Denmark, Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.
6. What would you like to have in 2019 that you lacked in 2018?
A baby! :) Also a tidy home and balance in life, just like last year. ^^;
7. What date from 2018 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 1 - the day I saw a faint positive result on a pregnancy test. And about a week later there was no doubt that I was pregnant. :)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
That I quit my old job. Overall my new job is a lot less stressful even though I've been feeling kind of stressed out lately for no particular reason (scars from my last job).
9. What was your biggest failure?
Buying too many things, like clothes, even though most of it was second-hand. Feeling sad, worried and stressed.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just my usual chronic conditions and I had a cold with a bad cough during autumn.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Interrail and concert tickets.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Some healthcare professionals who have helped me.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Donald Trump. Climate change deniers and people who don't care about the environment at all.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, our Interrail trip to Europe, food, concert tickets and clothes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting pregnant! And our Interrail trip.
16. What song will always remind you of 2018?
First Aid Kit - Fireworks.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) Happier or sadder? Happier. :)
b) Thinner or fatter? Perhaps not fatter, but my tummy is bigger. ;)
c) Richer or poorer? Richer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Sleeping, exercising, meditating and reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying about the baby.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it in Örebro with my family and then went back to Stockholm on Boxing Day. I've been relaxing a lot this Christmas and it's been very nice. I needed that after a couple of stressful weeks.
21. How will you be spending New Years?
We spent it at home just the two of us eating halloumi burgers and frozen cheesecake. :9
22. Did you fall in love in 2018?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?
None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Poldark. Vår tid är nu.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
26. What was the best book you read?
I read so few it's embarrasing, but I liked A Little Life.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't know... but being on stage dancing with Belle & Sebastian was something special! :D
28. What did you want and get?
Pregnant.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
I loved Isle of Dogs!
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 32 and I spent it in and around Örebro with Danne, my family and Jessica. Fika, an evening swim and then pizza, a perfect day!
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Same thing as last year: If Danne's health had been better I would've been much happier. It keeps getting worse and it worries me.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2018?
A bit boring because of lack of energy. I want to go through my wardrobe and get rid of all the clothes I never wear, or start wearing them.
33. What kept you sane?
Spending time with friends and overall doing fun things.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
No one.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Environmental issues.
36. Who did you miss?
Friends I haven't seen much during the year.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
I don't know.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2018.
Maybe that good things come to those who wait.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Can't think of any right now.
