"An atom consists of a small, relatively massive nucleus."
Small, relatively massive nucleus.
Small, relatively massive.

Somebody tell me how this subject makes any sense.
And by this subject, I mean physics.

The use of the word "relatively" makes the sentence perfectly meaningful. It isn't saying the nucleus is small and massive, just that it is massive when compared to whatever else you're talking about. In this case that would be whatever is around the nucleus I would guess.

How does this NOT make sense

What are the major contituents of an atom... Electrons, Protons, and Neutrons
What is the main constituent of an atomic nucli? Protons and Neutrons

So, We know that in Atomic mass units, protons and neutrons = 1
Electrons = 0

elctrons suround the nucli in a cloud, and on a reltative size, at a distance of about three foot ball feilds away

So, Take a standard carbon atom, it has 6 protons 6 electrons and 6 neutrons, thus you have six meaningless, no mass particles floating around a pretty huge distance from a 12 AMU dense core. So it is small, but it is massive because it IS the mass of the atom.

PLEASE KEEP PRATCE, that was so pathetic

Massive = having a lot of mass, not necessarily large in size.

The first definition for "massive" in thefreedictionary.com is:

"Consisting of or making up a large mass; bulky, heavy, and solid: a massive piece of furniture."

Mass, not volume (necessarily)! =)

I don't understand how I was talking about volume...

All the Mass is at the center, which it is why it is the massive part of the atom, thats what I said

I assume the case is that the volume comment was directed at Natalie... but if not you're stupid as hell because what I said makes perfect sense

And, ignoring the sentence completely, shouldn't you alreay know what an atom is, and what it contains?

=P

P.S. It's okay to be a nub every once in awhile.
