Is it better to strive for grand goals and only partly achieve them, or strive for small goals and succeed entirely?

I'd go for the Grand Goals. Partial achievement is better than no achievement. The skill is in acknowledging the achievements you have made and using them to further your ambitions and your confidence. Agree with the comment above about a lack of judgement - it's always perspective that defines 'small' or 'large' achievements.

Oh, and yes, I have been drinking :-)
