It's much like when a 5 year old runs towards you, waving a piece of paper in their hand, excited to share with you a few scribbles they've just drawn--"See? See? That's a house! And, and that's... a tree!"
It's best to just nod and say, "That's nice, dear."
Musak!
I must, must tell you about some musical geniuses I have recently uncovered!
"That's nice, dear," says everyone in chorus.
...Um, thank you all... for that. So, the musicians in question are Fleet Foxes and how good are they? Damn good!
It's like Simon and Garfunkel gave birth to--to an entire band of people! (Don't ask me about the science of it.) And this band were then dipped into the soft, haunting waters from whence Band of Horses came, and dusted with a sprinkling of sugary 1950s/60s-harmony and served with a dollop of Baroque cream on the side and--huh... I'm feeling sorta hungry right now.
Get this: I've just heard that they'll be doing a show in my hometown on... my BIRTHDAY! Hah!
*does a happy dance. Knocks over several lamps. Frightens small children.*
Actually, I seem to have developed some sort of a habit of going to a brilliant live music show on my birthday, which I am entirely fine with. Let's see, in the last few years I've seen The Bees, The Sleepy Jackson and Jose Gonzalez (I missed out on Band of Horses. But let's not talk about that. Ever. Grrr!). I guess last year's Laneway Festival counts too (that means, The Panics, Gotye, Feist must be added to the list). Yay for being born at a time when all the tours seems to be happening!
If you're interested in checking out Fleet Foxes, here they are with not one, not two, but three songs. (Because I am lame and couldn't cut it down to one.)

So, that's all. Except, have you seen this awesome picture I drew! That's a house! Right there! And that--that's a tree! See? See? And, and...
