Never have I written such lovely prose!

In my sleep, that is. On paper, however, um... not so good.

(Damn, but I write well in my dreams! Of course, by "writing", I really mean live through, experience and envisage sentences, speech and scenes. And, yes, my assessment of how good these bits are is also being carried out in the same theta state in which the creating has occurred, so ( Read more... )

I am meant to be taking bags of dirt out of boxes and putting them into other boxes, so I guess I really ought to get back to that.

You win the prize for most interesting work!

As for your writing, yay: plans! Good stuff. :D

I have to give you and everyone else doing this a virtual pat on the back. It's a large undertaking, and added to our daily routines, it deserves to be rewarded. You all are very ambitious :D

If I'm not too busy, I might join the '09 team. Provided I come up with a somewhat usable storyline by then, of course...

But I wanted to say I know how you feel. I "dreamwrite" all the time. What kicks me in the butt is that I never remember to put a pen and a pad of paper next to my bed so I can write down what I've got in my head. It always sounds so lovely to me, but instead of writing it down right away, I make a mental note to myself. And then guess what? When I get around to writing it down- the words are lost! You'd think I'd learn my lesson by now but I guess I don't learn my lessons, haha.

If you find yourself without a plot come 1st November, '09, the NaNo forums have all these awesome threads, such as "Adopt a plot", "Adopt a character", "Adopt a quirk", and "Adopt a character name".

Essentially, if you've no use for a character, plot, etc etc, anymore, you can give them up for adoption and watch them go to a lovely new home! There is also a "story starters" (the first few lines of a story) thread where people post whatever story prompts they can come up with and, yes, they're all up for grabs too. :D

(Of course, the NaNo site has been inundated with people trying to get on that, well, no one can. So I'd recommend checking these forums out at least a few days before the first of November. Otherwise, when the clock ticks over to 1st Nov, you could be sitting, staring at a blank page for much longer than you'd hoped. :) )
