If I were to do NanoWriMo in October, what should I be doing now to prepare?

Do it in November, when it actually is. Aside from that, I have no advice - I've failed twice. I guess "clear the decks" is the learning lesson I could pass on. :)

I was thinking of doing it this November. But i say that every year and then never start. (Though this year i'm not in grad school!)

Er... come up with something to write about? Make an outline? (Is that cheating?)

Good questions. I'm pretty sure it's not cheating unless you actually start writing. I *think* outlines are ok.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to take a class this Fall, as the Environmental Econ class I went to on Monday seemed to have a terrible professor, so hopefully that'll free up some time for me.
