Bah. School sucks.

I don't even remember where we left off last time. None of the reading looks familiar. That's bad. *thwaps self* Stupid TeniPuri, making me blank out in class. >_Really though, St. Rudolph could be perfectly cast in Princess Tutu. Yanagisawa would be the bumbling, cheerful duck/Ahiru/Princess Tutu, Atsushi would be perfect as the delicately- ( Read more... )

Finding a beta-reader is hard x.x I'd say try asking an author you admire, that way when they rip your work to shreads you know they're not just doing it for the hell of it.

I find it hard to beta though. It takes me a while to feel really comfortable enough to be able to rip someone's work up (actually I feel guilty after I've ripped it to shreads).

The only problem is that the good authors are pretty busy writing their own stories and stuff... I'd feel uncomfortable asking them to give up so much of their time to read my stupid fics. --;;

*is part of a fanfic community that has ranted about these horrible writers bugging better ones to read their fics and give constructive criticism*

I think it's important that a beta fundamentally likes your work. Otherwise, it's hard to get into the story and want to find ways to improve it. I tried getting nahmool to do it once but it didn't work out. I suspect she doesn't like my anime obsession because she thinks I should be writing jekki fics instead. XD

*loves your icon* XD XD

I may take you up on your offer, once I get to writing something new. ^^;;; *loves you for a certain smart-alecky review you left on another person's fic* I don't think it's possible to take such hilariously-phrased criticism badly.

Out of curiosity, what kind of beta are you? The grammar/spellcheck only kind or the storyline/stylistic criticism also kind?

And I KNOW... gah~!! I love Eiji's singing. I'm in complete awe how someone can sing in a faked-cute voice that's *completely* different from his regular one. *cracks up again over Kaidoh's hissing*

Yay! Thanks! It loves you too!
Chibi ghosties: *nibble on you with their sharp pointy teeth*

Oooh? Which fic was it? I leave a lot of reviews like that. ^^;
I tend to be very honest with people about what I think about their fics. I'm kinda overly picky, little things bother the hell out of me. (Not that I'm anywhere near perfect myself.)
So when I beta I usually go over everything. I really can't help myself, if something's worded oddly, or just totally off in some way, I just HAVE to throw my two cents in.

Lil Eiji's so precious. His singing sends me into stupid fits.

*gets all chewed up* XD XD

I'm too chicken to name fics in the slim, slim chance that the writer or her friends see it, but your review was:

Hm.. English is not your first language is it?
You may want to get a beta reader. (One who DOES speak English...well) There was no reason for this fic to be rated R. The word 'bitch' is PG, PG-13 if you really wanna play it safe. Sorry but F* is not a dirty word. It's actually not a a word at all.
The idea was cute though. I'll give you points for trying.
But, honestly, at times you had me rolling on the floor with laughter.
Particularly this
"Fuji was sitting on the parchment outside the apartment."
You may want to invenst in a dictionary, or w.dictionary.com is a good resource also.
Parchment is something that you write on, like paper. You don't normally sit on it.
I cracked up imagining poor little Fuji sitting on a stack of paper outside Tezuka's apartment.XD XD *dies* I wanted to review your review, that's how perfect it was - it said exactly what I was thinking but without the ( ... )

Whee~ somehow you made me want to start watching Tutu now ^^ - I was said that it was an extremely beautiful anime =D.

As for beta-reading - I certainly don't think you're lacking and need one XD, but it's always nice to have something you created revised and approved by another person ^_^. You really should try and ask someone you consider capable - and I very doubt that such a person couldn't find a way to critisize without discouraging (eep, did that make sense? XD). Even if there were any mistakes - there's always room for development and if it's you, I'm positive you won't fail to improve. =D *waves banner*

LOL. ^___^ Thanks for your support! I don't mind a bit of discouragement, because once I get in a "damn I suck" mode, I write more to prove myself and everyone wrong. ^^;; I'm just worried that I won't be able to open myself to critcism without getting super-defensive.

Princess Tutu is awesome! I normally wouldn't have downloaded it because of the lame title, but it was fansubbed by the same group that did Full Moon wo Sagashite, which I adored. So I decided to put a little faith in their judgment, gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised.

*cannot stop seeing Mizuki prancing around half-naked as the raven princess* Bad mental images. XD XD

XD St. Rudy makes everything better!

Stupid me, in my excitement over seeing Yummi, I totally forgot to thank you for sharing the doujin scans earlier. So, THANK YOU~!!

I have no idea why Atsushi going ga-ga over Yanagisawa-duck is stuck smack-dab in the middle of the Yummi segment but that totally had me laughing.

^^;;;;;

da... da- ne~

I can't believe you remembered this entry. ^^;;; *loves Rue* She's definitely my fave character. And I'm glad I know a yaoi fan who's just as much a shoujo fan.

Erk. Will email you about the file thing.

Hehe, though I can't remember to take the KEYS with me, when my friend's driven my stuff to my new dorm, I still can remember stuff like this XD...

But really, somewhere in my mind I felt that I wanted to search for Rudy's characters. And when Ruu appeared and just screamed "NFU" at me *giggles madly*...

Actually, before I got into Jump series with HkaGo, Naruto and Tenipuri and turned into a "real" yaoi fan, I was a diehard shoujo fan ^_^. I read all that HtY and Ribon stuff ^^, and I still love them, especially Furuba, HanaKimi and KareKano. Oh yeah, and Skip Beat has been intriguing me recently, I'm really happy to have such a new series licensed in Germany ^^.

Ah, and will reply to the files thing =P
