I remember using You Just Don't Understand for a paper and it was a great book filled with all kinds of useful bits, so I can only guess that one more general would be just as good.
1) Good quote I thought you would like: "The main reason I have no money, less than no money, is that I've spent it all on books. Sometimes I think I could sell the books, and then I'd have money. And then think of all the books I could buy!"
2) Sometimes people don't WANT to communicate. They don't want to know, or care, or otherwise. In a sense, that's the "rubber meets the road" challenge of such ideas, likewise of NLP.
