Mostly I opened this comment to say Frightened Rabbit ♥

Then I read on, and you're a literature geek, and a Brit - all these things are awesome :)

Yes! I am, in fact, a card carrying member of the Literature Nerd Squad. You possibly haven't heard of us. We're not really a group per se, we're too busy reading to congregate anywhere and do squad-like things, as the name might suggest. But we totally have the best intentions, and we're well-read.

In other news, I feel I should say that I am only partly British. I have duel citizenship with my motherland, the wonderful and exasperating US of A.

Awww, don't be silly. The great thing about LJ is how many different ages there are all mixing together and having fun. I should have thought!

I'm taking your music suggestions under advisement, as I've not heard of most of them. I'm always looking for new things to listen to. :)

M83 :DDD Yeah, that's totally where this icon came from.

Also, you can't not love Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights - it's the least accurate representation of a novel ever, but it's kind of endearing for that!

That is a brilliant icon. Considering how amazing they are, I can't believe M83 aren't loved all over the place. They need to do some promoting!

Ha, exactly. And we can't forget the crazy videos!

You remember how I was like: I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE GUY WHO SINGS THAT ONE HIT WONDER SONG I ALSO CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF, THE GUY WITH BLOND FLOPPY HAIR AND A MOLE?

Well, I Googled "one hit wonder mole" and got the right answer... LMAO!

Haha, yes. Only that I only like one of her hits, so I've categorised her as that... But she is super adorable, I agree.

LOL, thanks! I feel like I needed weirder questions, because I could have answered this whole thing with just Eddie From Ohio and the Decemberists, and that does not accurately reflect my vast and varied taste in music. I'm missing at least three genres here, seriously. Like, I should have found a way to include my favorite punk band (The Saints), and my favorite musicals (The Last 5 Years, In The Heights, Footloose), and, IDK, the fact that I somehow managed to miss Fallout Boy the first time around and am just now discovering how awesome they are. Favorite song to play really loudly at 3 AM while pretending you're still in college (Girlfriend, Avril Lavigne)! Favorite song to sing into your hairbrush melodramatically (Jolene, Mindy Smith)! Favorite song to clean your apartment to (anything by Cobra Starship)! Favorite workout song (Howl, Florence and the Machine)! Favorite song to seduce someone with (Glory Box, Portishead...oh, I did include that one, never mind)!

I knew we'd get on, because if the moment exists - even if only hypothetically - I have a song already picked for it. Doing the washing up but kind of enjoying it enough to sing into the frying pan? Donna Summer - Last Dance. Sunday morning drinking tea with a cat in my lap? Can, Mary Mary Quite Contrary. Unavoidable air guitar moment, even if strangers are watching? Won't Get Fooled Again. It's like a disease.
