I mentioned to acchikocchi a while ago that I was going to write a post about how I write DV and DS. this is kind of that post? or just me blathering on.

oh god, now I'm going look completely insane to anyone who comes by. WHATEVER. I HAVE COMPANY. maybe I should have been nicer in that not!dv/leo thread. OH WELL.
so there's some of her backstory and also some of my ideas and also people being enthusiastic and asking her for DV/Leo fic. I have a feeling you know how this makes me feel...........yes. yes I do. never mind, I take the above comment back

exactly! I know that DV/Leo shippers are wonderful people. but. um. yeah. anyway, this is my journal so.
"what is this bonding idea, I don't trust this, what, this is something Barcelona does? please, we don't hold with that kind of thing here because we're Real Madrid." so off Mori goes. and going by [info]meretricula's explanations there's not the physical backlash, but Mori's success/Raul's angst/etc. still apply. though they still go see each other all the time, because it feels better that way. and they're determined that Mori will come back and everything will be okay!!1!
I NEED TO STOP QUOTING MASSIVE BITS OF THIS BACK TO YOU BUT. your Perez is so perfectly evil and horrible. the Mori/Raul angst is SO PLAUSIBLE and lovely. the note of hope. everything oh god.
Perez is still a douche, etc., everything follows accordingly. and actually, this works even better, because since this whole bonding thing is confusing and secret outside of Barca, Mori wouldn't even

this is a safe space, in other words. oh good. XD guess why it's taken me so long to answer this comment.
maybe DV goes to him for advice? and he gives a really confusing answer and DV ultimately decides he has to do it; he's got no choice and the team needs him and what can happen really? and then WHAM. honestly, I think DS would have been harder for Koeman to talk around because he's a pretty stubborn guy deep down, but he was younger and not so cynical (obviously, this is what changed all that) so I can see him being talked around eventually.yes, yes yes yes. I think DV's drive to succeed would work in Koeman's favor, which of course he'd know - like, if DV wanted it badly enough (and back then - yeah) he'd convince himself it would be fine, and hey, Mori said it was okay... or he sort of did... whatever, if Raul can handle it, so can he. also, yeah, for sure, I feel like DS got talked into it because he was pretty young and unsuspecting. also, you know, when DV actually came around to the idea, that miiiiight have influenced his

I love this, because I usually think of DV and DS as fairly strong-willed, but with the right leverage, they could be convinced to do stupid shit like this. Koeman could easily play off DV's drive to succeed, as well as his stupid rivalry with Raul - if Raul can handle it, so can he, like you said, which is a great way of articulating it. and yeah, DS being young, maybe still a little trusting. and once DV tells him he wants to do it, of course, it's a whole new ball game.
you know Cesc comes back for vacation and is like "so we've been doing this

*pokes head in* hi!
though by the way I still think Arsenal does... something. that's why they and Barca are so damn prickly about each other. or at least Barca suspects they're up to something. (the Cesc thing obviously ties into this.)
The Dutch! They're everywhere. Bergkamp, Overmars, van Persie...and if Henry and Robert Pires weren't bonded in a world that has soulbonding, NO ONE IS BONDED.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DAY 6 MILLION TIMES BETTER.
brb looking for that youtube clip where they share headphones. (fun fact, Bobby/Thierry were the first pairing I ever thought of. I went looking for fic and found footballslash. wow.)
Re: this was here all alongnahco3March 8 2011, 05:37:37 UTC
well, being a sports fan isn't quite like being in fandom for a movie or a tv show or whatever. my teams are my teams for life. and as long as I'm watching games and reading match analysis, I'm gonna see stuff that's slashy. so...at least mentally, I'll probably be in here for a very long time. :)
