DEAREST YULETIDE AUTHOR,
first of all, I am so excited to read whatever you write for me! I really cannot wait and I know you will do a fabulous job. In order to make your life hopefully a little easier, here's a bit more detail about my requests, as well as info about what I love in fic and the stuff that I'd prefer you avoid.
first off, I cannot handle rape or non-con, as well as explicit animal or child harm in fic, so please, please avoid those.
here is some stuff I love in fic:
- world building! descriptions of places, and details how the characters interact with the world around them. I love reading about those little things that make each city, each person, each office building, unique!
- an exploration of the character's backstory. I love knowing what makes the characters who they are, the things that matter to them, what in their past as shaped their present.
- I like angsty fic with happy (or hopeful) endings, but I realize that sometimes, a happy ending isn't possible.
- plotty fic.
- true love, pining for someone else, characters who are romantic/very in love but don't necessarily show it.
-AUs.
here is some stuff that squicks me:
- rape, non-con, explicit animal and child abuse are deal breakers for me.
- humiliation/embarrassment.
- infidelity.
Since all the fandoms I've requested are RPF, please be respectful of character's real life partners. If you choose not to write about them, that is completely fine with me, but if you do want to address or include them in the story, please be respectful!

Football Weekly RPF:
As I said in my sign-up, I'd love James/Sid, but if you just want to write gen, that's fine too! You can find all the episodes of the pod online here, and you can find my personal favorite pod with maximum James/Sid HERE - the best moment is from about 17:15 to 19:04. So if you want to write about Sid and James awkwardly flirting with a lot of puns, and their developing relationship, that's great! If you just want to write about the pod hanging out and talking about footie (and life) that's great, too.
As many footie details as you want to/feel comfortable including would be wonderful. And if you're feeling really bold, you can write an AU where they're sports journalists reporting on Quidditch (or any other cool or crazy sport: football in the dystopian future where everyone lives in space stations! football during the zombie apocalypse! GO NUTS.) What if James and Sid were in love but separated by Death Eaters? But the pod still had to go on? Really anything you want that captures the fun of the pod would be wonderful.
Baseball RPF:
I'm a huge San Francisco Giants fan. I've been in love with Tim for pretty much ever, and have an almost equally giant crush on Barry. San Francisco is also pretty much my favorite place on this earth. So really it would be hard to go wrong here. I ship Barry and Tim hard: I think especially as Tim struggled this season, he reminded me of a younger Barry, with his dominance early in his career and then a series of mental problems holding him back, despite how good his stuff is. Fic exploring their relationship, the unique dynamic they have, would be so wonderful. How does Barry see Tim, versus himself? How does Tim see Barry?
As I said in my prompt, I'm from the Bay. Details about San Francisco (or Oakland, if you also want to take on Barry's past) would make me so happy: I love reading about my home. But if you're not familiar with San Francisco, that's fine too. I also just love reading about baseball, so if you want, feel free to include details of games, if you'd like! Again, if you feel more comfortable writing gen fic about these two, that's totally fine.
update: so as of writing this the Giants are 2 - 0 up in the World Series, and Barry Zito's pitched two miracle starts, and Tim is pitching lights out as a reliever. (two Cy Youngs!!! in the bullpen!!!!) if you want an article that gives you some idea of MY JOY and also HOW HARD I SHIP TIM/BARRY, read on. this is basically almost fic. feel free to just turn this article into fic, with (optional) sexy times.
Abarat Series- Clive Barker:
I requested Candy and Christopher Carrion, but if you want to include other characters as well, please do! One of the things I love about Abarat is the islands themselves, and how many possibilities there exist for what could be happening on each island, their history, and so on. As I said in my request, I'd love to read fic about either Candy or Carrion exploring some of the islands. I'm really interested in knowing more about the islands, and reading about the characters having to figure something out about the islands themselves, go on a quest, something, fascinates me. I'd also love to learn more about Carrion's childhood (always always!) if that's something you're interested in exploring.
if you want to write fic about Candy and Carrion interacting - go for it, I'd love it. I'd love to see them get to know each other a little better. if you want to write Candy/Carrion fic, please do, but I would like to see some exploration of the complicated dynamics of that pairing, as well as acknowledgement of the fact that both of them (Carrion especially) would have to change in order for them to have some sort of relationship. plotty fic about the two of them would be amazing - if circumstances forced them to work together to defeat some common enemy, for example.
Basketball RPF:
I spent like, all of the Finals shipping these two and mourning the lack of fic about them. I think it's such an interesting dynamic: how they have to work together without conflict as the two stars of the team, the pressure they were under, how talented they both are. I also LOVE both of their adorable press conference outfits, so feel free to include those. My dream fic might be something that explores their relationship - do they start hooking up just to deal with the pressure? Does one of them have feelings for the other which he's hiding? (yes please - I love this trope.) How do they deal with their emotions?
If you want to take on the question of what it means to be a gay or bisexual professional athlete, I'd love to read fic the addresses that question. Would one of them want to come out? Would they keep their sexualities secret from their team, from the press? What did they do in college?
If you don't want to write about them having a relationship, I would love to read gen about one of them dealing with their sexuality - gen about a queer character, and how his friend and teammate reacts to him.
