Naia sat at the Ravenclaw table at breakfast, perusing the Daily Prophet and reading the copy of the Metro that her mother had sent. Damn, Lindsay Lohan lost a bag of jewlry worth a million pounds, and the world stops. There's nearly a coup in the Parliment, and it's not front page news.

Colin entered the Great Hall that morning, looking around for a place to sit.. hm, there was no one at the Slytherin table, at least, no one he cared to talk to. It was then he noticed Naia at the Ravenclaw table, so he sat across from her, peering at the paper in her hand. "What's that you're reading?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Naia looked up as her cousin sat down, but not for long. She looked back down at the paper. 'It's a free paper that you get by tube stops in the morning around London. It has important new stories, but mostly it's just entertainment news and sport.' She turned the page and grinned evilly, folded the paper over and slid it across the table to Colin. 'See? That's Paris Hilton. She was arrested for drink driving. When you were a girl, you looked just like her.'

"Who?" He glanced at the paper briefly, looking at it in a disinterested fashion, before sliding it back to her. Nothing he cared to read about -- he didn't care for celebrity gossip, and it didn't matter if the person in question was a wizard or a muggle. "She looks like some stupid bimbo. Why would anyone want to read about her?"

Naia laughed. 'She is a stupid bimbo, whose only redeeming quality is that she's an heiress. I don't even like reading about her, but I wanted to show you because female you bears a striking resemblence.'

Naia grinned again, amused at how Colin had looked like a bimbo. 'Anyway, there's nearly been a coup with the muggle Prime Minister.' She used the word coup loosely. Her mun used the timeline loosely as well.

"Do I look like the spoiling type to you?" he asked, his odd stare still fixated on her, though she was avoiding eye contact. Ten years from now.. he had no idea. Maybe he would calm down by then, but he could make no promises about that. The future was never a certain thing. "And how the hell would I know?"

Naia sighed. "No, you're not the spoiling type. And no, you'll never trust me to deal with my own problems." Her voice was flat and she looked up at him through her eyelashes. Yeah, she was annoyed. Maybe she should make more of an effort to... you know... be nice to her cousin. Make pleasant conversations. To... hell if she knew.

"How's life?" she asked, to change the subject. It had about a 50/50 shot of working, depending on the type of mood that Colin was in.

Colin looked at her, his facial features contorting to confusion, then annoyance. What the hell was she talking about? Of course he let her deal with her own problems. It was just when said problems involved boys that he got annoyed. "I didn't say that," He rolled his eyes.

"And life is fine," he answered, shrugging, finishing off his breakfast.

"Okay, you didn't," said Naia. "You didn't, but man if you ever make me second guess my every move when it comes to boys. You're lucky, you know, being the oldest of us. Darn lucky."

She took a deep breath and tried to return to something more...safe. "Your revision is going okay? NEWTs and all?"
