This only proves my Fire Lord Zuko = Duke Leto Atreides theory. Just thought I'd share that. And your fic is wonderful! I echo the above statements: please keep writing this 'ship. I love the tone, the rhythm, and the attention to detail. Thank you.

There aren't a whole lot of direct parallels between Zuko and Leto. But their characters are very similar, in that Leto is capable of doing very tough things when he feels like he or his family is at risk, and I think Zuko is the same. Both men (if we count your characterization of an aged Zuko here) are bored by politics but forced to suffer through it, and they both appreciate peace and the opportunity to be at home with their wives/companions.

Now if Zuko would just sleep with Katara and have two ultra-prescient children... :P
