First post in half a year!  But I just found a new-to-me set of hilariously poor subtitles to (some of) the HP movies, thoughtfully posted by Read more... )

Wow. LOL at many of those Dolph Lundgren ones...how completely bizarre an error, yet turning out so weirdly apt.

Dumbledore subtitled "Try not to shoot each other"--man, he says that at the start of every year, but do they ever listen?

Also, McGonagall with the caption, "Hi, honey. What the fuck was that?"--that's *so* her subtext in so many of her lines.

And, really, kids, no rollerblading in the hallways.

I may have to share this.

And yeah, Remus and/or Sirius as "F.O.G."s...that's going into the "classic" category. Genius. Awesome.

An unsung classic - well, until now. I'll never hear the word "fog" the same way again...

"Actually, it's a f***ing skateboard."

It's amazing how well the subtitles from the one movie map to the other - everyone seems perfectly in character, even Aunt Marge. I wonder what other movies that might work for...

Snape-in-a-Dress's reaction seems perfectly reasonable under the circumstances, and it's not that surprising that Fudge doesn't want kids. And if I ever have a free moment, I should make an icon of the dementor calling Harry "Dork." I'm sure that's what it's thinking...
