Fa Ce-La!!!

I just discovered that Galaxie 500 has been added to the Rhapsody Music Service. Hoo-Ray!!! Upon listensing to Blue Thunder, however, I recollected -- perhaps rediscovered? -- one more root of the strange grab-bag of neuroses that is my personality. There was a roller coaster called The Galaxy. I rode it once, with my father, at Kings Dominion. However the restraints weren't suitable for a child my size even though I surpassed the height limit and I was thrown into the bottom of the coaster-car, banged my head on the restraining bar and my father had to grab me by the back of the shirt to get me re-seated in the booth-style seat. I believe I was seven. The Galaxy was decomissioned shortly thereafter.

And Minnie was a twerp for spurning your advances. Or perhaps it was just a guy in a Minnie suit.

A guy in a Minnie Suit? Oh wonderful, now I'm a gay furry! There seems to be no end to my journey of self-discovery.

Yes, and it was Kings Dominion. I don't think I ever actually rode the thing -- either too young, too short, or too cowardly -- but it did look kind of hinky. I watched a documentary on roller coasters a while back -- and, what would I do with my free time without the Discovery Channel? -- and I am fairly certain that The Galaxy employed the exact same design schematics as the first roller coaster on Coney Island. I remember that they ripped the ride out to replace it with something, but I cannot recall what. Of course, now that Kings Dominion has become Paramount's Kings Dominion, I suspect that The Galaxy has been reinstalled, except with a Klingon theme.
