It annoys me to no end when someone is trying to give professional advice when they're neither a cosmetologist (or student) or a doctor. On one particular forum someone was recommending a certain vitamin that contains several ingredients that EXCEEDS the daily recommended dose. I pointed out that several of the ingredients DO have severe side effects when too much is taken. But oh no, I'm wrong and mean to point that out.
I also dismissed several myths that were being posted but of course I'm told I'm wrong. Hmm, let's see, my mother is a professional cosmetology instructor, I took two years of cosmetology courses while in high school (you have to pick between cosmetology, FFA, automotive and some other classes - they didn't have culinary arts back then at my high school like they do now). I still have my cosmetology books. I DO know what I'm talking about when I tell people you can't force hair to grow faster - it depends on your genes and what stage your hair is in - you can't kill it since hair is made of dead cells and you can't fix hair that is severely damaged by over processing it with chemicals. But no, I'm wrong because if you take vitamins, that contains more then the recommended daily dose, you're hair will grow several feet in a month. Oh and don't forget, trim your hair every few months makes your hair grow faster. ::rolleyes::
Yeesh, people, people, people. Stop giving out BAD advice and passing FALSE information. And while you're at it STOP recommending medication - even over-the-counter medication - to people because you're not a doctor, you don't know their health history, you don't know if they'll have a reaction to a medication. You're not a pharmacist or a physician. YOU can be held responsible for giving bad MEDICAL advice when you're not a doctor. I always tell people, I may take this OTC medication BUT I recommend you see a doctor before taking anything. My body chemistry isn't your body chemistry.
