"just" a feeling

Jun 26, 2005 00:06

One of the strangest traits of the human race is the desire for pain. Sometimes people welcome pain, so they can have a better explanation for the pain they already feel because their current reasons aren't good enough for the masses, or so they can have the deep thoughts/feelings the people around them feel, or for reasons that no one else would ( Read more... )

you have a really good point about how people constantly want drama and they think it will be "fun" and often times they're too wimpy to even cause drama in their own life so they screw up someone else's life and try to insert themself into it. And then people who have peachy keen lives except when they create drama for fun see you having problems they tell you to "Chill out" or "Stop overreacting", they tell you stop caring and then they tell you to stay alive... If people stopped caring why should they bother living? It's just so hurtful when people who like to create drama dismiss your life as being some sort of game or not such a big deal. They think they are the authority on problems. The human race is sick.

Very, very, very sick, confusing, and confused. I used to pay a lot of attention to people's opinions of my thoughts or choices or emotions, and I always used to second guess myself, but I don't do that anymore because what makes anyone else's opinions more valid than my own? I don't know. But yes, the human race is very sick.

Hello again Doctor-AO here,
right well I am not so sure that people desire pain so much so as they have a tendency to be overly curious about it. It's really all part of our innate need to learn. Ok so some people once they are aware of certain pains will want to repeat their effects. Things like bondage and being tied up and whipped for eg.

And I also don't think people are calling their lives boring due to a certain lack of pain. Perhaps they are in need of something and they aren't sure what it is, so they go out of their way to try and find it. Even if that means hurting themselves and others along the way.

On the other hand some are just nasty and will want to hurt others for their own benefit. Psychopaths and the like.

And you are right that people don't always tell you the whole story. They give you the iceberg side of things. Only telling a 1/3 or less of the story hiding the other 2/3rd's deep inside themselves below the conscious water line.

I wasn't saying that everyone desires pain and everyone looks for pain to bring themselves some kind of excitement. I was just talking about people I know. I know it sounded like I was making a sweeping generalization, but I tend to do that in my entries since I hate explaining myself in my own journal. Although, the last paragraph was basically me explaining myself, or helping others explain for themselves. I was basically saying that I don't always tell people the whole story so they shouldn't judge me based on what they hear. I don't know . . . I just had to put that because it dealt with something someone said that's been bothering me . . .

I totally agree about the starting drama part. i can't stand it when someone starts a conflict just to have a conflict. its pointless and becomes so much more in the end and I HATE conflict and drama

I never said anything about starting "drama". I said searching for pain. Drama is a subsection of pain.
