Some people use it to replace a pen-and-paper diary. Others use it to give a rundown of their day for anyone who might care. Others just post random shit because they can.
You're right, there is a lot of immaturity on LJ. Especially in the circles we are involved in. But there is also a lot of maturity, at least in what I've seen.
My view make me skewed since I also keep a seperate LJ for my close "real life" friends, and I find that one to be much more true-to-life. They don't post like my regreta friends do. It's a totally different thing. And I don't always post on my other journal like I do on regreta. Sometimes, I copy and paste verbatim, but other times I completely don't update regreta. They're two seperate lives.
Anyway. I'm just saying, I know what you mean, I've contemplated getting rid of regreta altogether, but then I realized I'd lose touch with the people I am close to in this circle, so I'm pretty much keeping it for that sole purpose
