I write for myself and read other people's entries to have something to do. I never started livejournal to make friends, and I don't feel particularly close to anyone.. I'm just a people watcher. I write in my journal to get things out, although I do OCCASIONALLY ask for advice, but it's usually on clothing or something of the sort. If I were you I'd use LJ as an outlet, not a social thing. Leaving LJ seems pointless to me.
