IC:

Name: Princess Estellise Sidos Heurassein
Canon: Tales of Vesperia
Age: 18
Class: Paladin/Priestess
Timeline: Her first encounter with Pharoah in Dahngrest

Background:
As one of the candidates to the Empire's throne, Estelle calls Zaphias her home, though given her status, she was never allowed to leave and mingle with anyone beneath her station. Until her chance encounter with Yuri, in fact, she'd never been outside of the castle walls. She never knew her mother - or at least, didn't know her well enough to remember her clearly, and her father likely passed away early as well. Much of Estellise's schooling and upbringing was done by nannies, and as she was under almost constant guard, she wasn't given much free reign to wander the halls of the castle. She certainly didn't have anything even remotely close to freedom, and she felt guilty for longing for such a thing, when she had a life of privilege that others would kill for.

She had few friends, most of which were servants, but her closest friend at the castle was a man by the name of Flynn Scifo. He was a member of the Imperial Knights, and despite his initial misgivings, he and his fellow knights did eventually give in to Estelle's insistence and taught her how to fight. Because of his duties, Flynn was often away from the castle and would tell Estelle of his travels whenever she asked. Again she would often feel that wistful urge to have the same freedom that he did; but she never acted on it.

Now, Estelle for all her sheltered naivete, was a special girl - not just that she was a charming girl and her servants were all fond of her, but she also had the gift of healing. The only difference between her healing magic, and the magic that others around her used, was that they used what was called a bodhi blastia; which allowed people to perform magic and special abilities. Not so for Estelle, who was capable of casting her healing arts without the aid of a blastia. To avoid questions that no one wanted to answer, or couldn't answer, Estelle was given a very fancy bodhi blastia - but a dummy one, to just make it appear that she was using the blastia to use magic. Most people who used them frequently would be able to tell that she wasn't actually using it, however. Still, there were some people who had interest in her ability - and that interest was not benign.

Unfortunately, Flynn's time with Estelle was limited, and he eventually had to leave as part of a knightly pilgrimage. Before he left, however, he warned her that Something Was Afoot, and that she should be very careful. She didn't understand what he'd meant by that, and it wasn't until almost a week later, well after he'd left, that she began to get A Clue. An increase in her personal guard, a number of shifty looks, whispers that stop and change topics when she is near... it just was strange. Sure the knights that visited were all very nice, if a bit.. proprietary.

Over time, she'd been able to find ways to sneak out of her room to get closer and closer to finding a way to escape the castle. She'd slipped up once, the guards were going to take her back to her room when she encountered a strange man in a place where he certainly didn't belong. Admittedly he helped ... discourage the guards from following her and had even offered to help her escape. That he seemed to know Flynn was reason enough for her to trust him, and she followed him and the motley crew they met along the way - soon getting caught up in an adventure that took her out of the castle and all over the world that was as much to save it as to discover her own identity.

Leaving Zaphias, Estelle's decision to find and warn Flynn, and Yuri's decision to find the mage "Mordio" who stole the aque blastia from the lower quarter led the pair to travel together. To get to Halure, they would have to cross through Deidon Hold - however, they were unable to do so because the Lord of the Beasts was in the area, and the knights present weren't letting anyone through the gate.

Thus, the pair had to cross through the Quoi Woods; though Estelle was initially nervous, due to the stories she'd heard about curses and other such superstitions. Her need to see Flynn proved greater, and she continued on with Yuri and Repede. The trio came upon an abandoned, inactive blastia there, which reacted when Estelle drew near to it, causing her to pass out. When she came too, she found herself a little dizzy from the effects of the aer, but after resting a short time they were capable of moving on, unaware that the blastia had become active again.

Just before reaching the exit of the woods, they met Karol, a guild member, who had been searching for eggbears. After his comical introduction, he joined the group to reach Halure, where it was discovered that the Tree blastia was in decay due to the blood of monsters seeping into the soil during the last attack, when the blastia barrier had weakened. This was why Karol had been in the woods - attempting to find the ingredients to make a panacea, though no one else would believe him. None but for Estelle and Yuri, that is.

They accompanied him back to the woods where they encountered an eggbear and acquired all of the items needed to make the panacea bottle. However, when they returned to Halure and had one prepared, the concoction did not work. It wasn't until Estelle stepped forward and prayed to the tree that the blastia reactivated, the tree blooming twice as much as before. Though they didn't know it at the time, Estelle's ability to manipulate the aer had refueled the blastia and healed the tree. Before they could celebrate restoring the barrier, they spied the assassins from the castle.

Not wanting to get the villagers mixed up in the situation, they chose to leave. Yuri continued to Aspio with Estelle accompanying him as Flynn had been headed in that direction also, and Karol chose to join them because 'they would be lonely'.

In Aspio, Yuri and Karol break into Mordio's house to discover the surly mage; Rita Mordio. However, she denies having anything to do with the theft of the aque blastia. Instead, she suggests the appearance of thieves in the Shaikos Ruins. Though Yuri is skeptical, the group follow Rita to the ruins to investigate, where they do find that Rita is in fact, innocent of the deed.

Still on the search for the core thief and Flynn respectively, the group (plus Rita), head to Halure to check on the barrier. There they find Flynn has been and gone, and left a clue that he would be in Nor Harbor. The rest of the knights appear to have caught up with Estelle and attempt to bring her back to the castle. They flee Halure and make their way through Ehmead Hill to Capua Nor, where they finally manage to catch up with Flynn, and update him on what's happened.

There the also investigate the matter of a crooked magistrate, namely Ragou, who was using a blastia to control the weather, closed the docks to prevent ships from going out, and claimed the son of a mother and father as food for his monster, to name just a few of his crimes.

When Ragou flees his home - after quite a disturbance caused by the group and a sudden appearance of a mysterious dragon rider - the group gives chase onto a ship where they encounter Barbos, one of the men pulling the strings behind the theft of the aque blastia, among other cores. He escapes as well, leaving behind the assassin Zagi to fight them.

When Zagi is defeated, the ship begins to sink due to a fire that broke out. The group dive overboard, and Yuri rescues someone who was kidnapped - a man who turns out to be the other candidate for the throne.

Winding up in Torim Harbor thanks to Flynn's ship, Estelle makes the decision to continue traveling with Yuri for a bit longer. Still on the search for the aque blastia, they receive a tip on the Blood Alliance and proceed after it. This leads them to the fallen city of Caer Bocram, where they encounter the Hunting Blade guild. This information proved false, and when they emerged they found themselves arrested and escorted to Heliord by the imperial knights. It was the intention of the knights to return Estelle to the castle, while detaining Yuri, Karol and Rita to be tried for their crimes, however Estelle and Ioder were able to pardon their friends, no doubt done in exchange for Estelle's consent to return home quietly.

Things did not play out this way, in any event. In Heliord, the blastia began to malfunction, reaching critical mass. Rita attempted to repair it, but was unable to. Estelle rushed out to help her, and for some reason her body was glowing. Neither girl was able to prevent the inevitable - the blastia exploded, wounding them both and knocking Rita unconscious. Estelle remained by Rita's side, using healing arte after healing arte until she exhausted herself. When Yuri comes to check on her later, he and Rita reveal that they know she doesn't use her 'bodhi blastia' to use her artes, much to her surprise. Even more surprising, they get a sudden visit by the dragon rider, who attacks briefly, and then flees.

When the party reunites again, they discuss briefly what they are going to do; Estelle still wants to travel with the group, but Alexei, the Commandant, insists that she can't do so. Instead he tasks Rita with investigating the forest of Keiv Moc. Estelle takes the opportunity to try and travel with her friends longer, arguing that her healing artes would be useful, and if Yuri accompanied them it would be safe. Alexei agrees, and they set off.

Once in Dahngrest, they mean to question the Don about the Blood Alliance - the attempt is interrupted by another barrier failure and monster attack. This time however, Rita is able to fix the barrier. With this crisis over, the party is free to go to Keiv Moc, where they meet Raven. He insists on joining them, despite their reluctance due to his shadiness. His assistance does come in handy, but when they reach the aer krene, they find that the aer is going out of control and they soon find themselves in a tight spot. The mysterious stranger, Duke, appears and calms the krene with his sword, only to leave as soon as he'd appeared. Their mission complete, they head out of the forest - to their surprise, they encounter the Don on their way out, but he doesn't have time to speak with them for long. He does promise to speak with them in Dahngrest though, so they return to Dahngrest.

When they reach the Union, Flynn is there before them, requesting Don Whitehorse to cut off his ties to the Blood Alliance. Yuri also brings up his own issue with th Blood Alliance. Don Whitehorse agrees to cooperate with Flynn. Just as things seem to work out, however, Flynn hands a letter that is supposedly from Ioder. It is discovered to be a letter suggesting the assassination of Don Whitehorse. Flynn is horrified and doesn't believe the contents of the letter. He insists that it was a trap, but Don has him thrown in the prison and declares war on the Empire.

Yuri later checks on Flynn and finds out that the Red Eyes had planted the letter on Flynn, and presumably did the same to the knights. Yuri switches places with Flynn and tasks his friends with clearing up the situation. When Don discovers Yuri there, he reveals that he really had believed Flynn, but his reaction was for show. Yuri is aware he will be executed in Flynn's place if his friend didn't return in time. While in prison, Yuri questioned Don's desire to create a guild. The Don gives Yuri some things to think about, and then releases him from jail to task him with finding the people who were trying to arrange the war between the Guilds and the Empire.

When Yuri reunited with Karol and Estelle, they inform him that the Blood Alliance had been spotted. They quickly follow after Rita and Repede, who had been shadowing them, and encounter Ragou and Barbos. They realize Ragou's plan was to destroy the knights so that the Council would be able to control the Empire, whereas Barbos wanted to eliminate Don Whitehorse and become the leader of the guilds. From the window of Barbos' home, they see Flynn arriving just in the knick of time to stop the hostilities. Barbos attacks with his blastia weapon, but before he can attack with it, the dragon rider appears and destroys it. Barbos flees and the dragon rider moves to give chase, but Yuri asks 'him' to follow. The dragon rider allows Yuri along, and they chase after Barbos to Ghasfarost.

Despite putting up a good fight, Yuri and the dragon rider are captured. The dragon rider is revealed to actually be a Krityan woman by the name of Judith, "Judy" for short. There Yuri discovers her 'reason' for destroying blastia. They opt to work together to get out of jail. At the top of the tower, Yuri and Judith find Estelle and the others already there, having gone looking for him. When the group questions Judith's presence in specific, Yuri covers for her. When they reach the top of the tower, they encounter Barbos again, and discover that he is using the core for the aque blastia in his chainsaw-sword. Duke puts in another appearance, destroys the weapon and leaves again. When he is defeated, rather than be taken in to face justice, Barbos throws himself off the tower. Reclaiming the aque blastia, the party heads off to Dahngrest, and Judith goes her own separate way.

Back in Dahngrest, the party finds Ragou being taken into custody and that the Empire and the Union were joining in a treaty of friendship. Estelle plans on returning to the castle, as much as she doesn't want to, and the party heads to the inn to rest. In the middle of the night, Karol informs Yuri that Ragou was going to get off lighter than he should due to his standing in the Council.
Yuri goes to speak with Flynn and discoves his friend has made Captain. They discuss the events, and Yuri leaves, encountering Ragou on a bridge. Rather than let him go, Yuri chooses to kill him as his punishment, knowing Ragou would continue on as he had been doing if he was left alive. Thoughts heavy, he returns to the inn.

In the morning, Rita and Karol are seeing Estelle off. Karol goes to get Yuri, but he is reluctant, until he hears a disturbance. He rushes outside and finds the town under attack by a large monster specifically targeting Estelle. "The insipid poison of this world must be purged." it said to her. Before it could harm her, it was attacked by the Heracles under Alexei's orders.

Yuri reached Estelle - he said she had the decision to return to the castle with Flynn, or continue with him. She chose to continue her journey with Yuri. On the bridge, now broken by one of the attacks of the Heracles, they encountered Judith who was looking at the flying monster. Worried, Estelle dragged Judith along with them. They were about to leave when Flynn called out on the other side of the bridge. Yuri gave the aque blastia to Flynn and decided he would start up a guild with Karol. After saying their goodbye's, Estelle and Yuri left with Repede, Karol and Judith.

This is where I am taking Estelle from.

Personality:
Raised in a fancy schmancy castle her entire life, Estelle is a bit ... naive, shall we say, in regards to the world outside the protective walls of her home. As a result of this protected, sheltered state, she tends to believe what people tell her, without considering that they may be deceiving her. She has enough common sense to not believe something that's -too- ridiculous, but she does still fall for the occasional lie, like superstitions.

Everything she's learned about her world, she learned it from the books in the library, and from what her knight friend, Flynn, told her about his travels. To that effect, she is quite smart when it comes to things in books, and her memory is impressive enough that she is able to recite passages from books she's read by heart. This is undoubtedly because whenever you get Estelle into a library, or near a book, she will immediately read it. She's fascinated with learning about other cultures and reading fairy tales as well, and once she begins reading, it's hard to get her attention again, as she will completely lose herself in the world of the printed word.

She has an insatiable curiosity, and a creative spirit - because she's been influenced by so many books, both myths and real life stories, she has a talent for weaving stories of her own. Of course, her preference is in creating fairy tale myths to bring smiles to the faces of children, and anyone who would read or listen to her stories. She delights in making people happy, and with a compassionate heart as big as hers, she often goes out of her way to meet people and socialize. She enjoys making friends, and is fascinated by the different backgrounds that everyone has. She isn't even deterred by those who are less than social themselves, and will approach them to get them to talk - despite the challenge that it may be. Her persistence is only that much moreso when it's an animal, so when even an animal dislikes her, she does display a bit of.. poutiness. But rather than get so discouraged she stops trying, she continues to try and get on the other's good side, to make friends. Everyone needs a friend!

Typical of any teenage girl, Estelle demonstrates several similar traits to 'normal' or 'common' females when it comes to her appearance. It's very very slight vanity, and a bit of self consciousness about her own figure mainly. While she has accepted that she won't be as developed as other women, she can't help but feel a little envious of their fuller figure on occasion. At the same time, she does get defensive of her own figure, even a little bit offended if someone implies she might not be cute or sexy - despite any embarassment that may come of it.

A pacifist at heart, Estellise prefers not to fight whenever necessary - however, she is well aware that to accomplish certain goals, fighting cannot be avoided. To that end, she will give it her all when she fights, even though she may much rather be healing those who are injured. When she does encounter someone who is in trouble or hurt, she doesn't hesitate to throw herself into the fray and fight to protect someone, or push herself to the very limits of her abilities healing them, even if it drives her to exhaustion.

As far as decision making goes, she is almost always in conflict, especially when it comes to what she wants personally, and her duties as noble. On the one hand, as a noble, she knows she should remain at home, where she can maybe do some good and change things, even though she will be kept under guard and sheltered with no freedom there. On the other hand, she wanted to explore the world around her, to take a more active hand in helping people, and do things that she would never be permitted to do if she were at home. This conflict often leads her to simply 'follow along', or stall on a decision, constantly second guessing herself and hoping she makes the right choice. Eventually she gets a lot better about making decisions for herself, and and when she does make a decision, she sticks by it to the point of stubbornness.

Appearance: Image Ref here!

Estelle is not the sort of girl one would call 'sexy' really. Cute, definitely - with short pink hair and wide, innocent blue-green eyes, she gives off the air of naivete and rose colored glasses. Which matches for her rose colored hair. She's slender and light on her feet, and for her travel attire her motif is white and pink. A white overdress is worn with a gold spiraling trim, while underneath is a pink dress with a hem cut like the triangular petals of a tulip. Beneath both layers she has a pair lf black leggings for her modesty's sake, and a pair of white boots with the same gold trim as her outerdress.

Future Plans: First and Foremost she will want to learn about the world and help as many people as she can. Naturally she'll intend to do this with Yuri and any other canonmates available, though she'll be branching out to meet other people. She'll want to help fulfill Martel's Plea more than likely, so she won't form any alliances (yet) save to her companions. Plotwise, I think It will be very interesting to see some kind of repercussion revolving around her Child of the Full Moon ability, and the fact that their power is a poison to the land. I would actually love to play with this, though I know I would have to speak with mods on this in detail if they're interested <3

Roleplay Samples:

1st Person - [ The hologram flickers a bit - goes out, then flickers back in steadily as the user fiddles with the controls. ]

There, I think that's right. I've never seen a blastia that worked like this before even though it It looks just like mine... hm. Um -! Can anyone hear me? O-Or see me?

Hmm... maybe [ Static ] oops! [ It clears again. ]

Well, if this truly is meant for communication with the inhabitants of this world, then I should introduce myself properly.

Good afternoon, my name is Estellise, and ... well, I'm new to this world. I was traveling with some friends of mine... I'm sure they'll be worried when I turn up missing.

[ Can one "turn up" missing? Oh well. ]

But if I must be here for a while, then I hope we can all get along. I'm very pleased to meet all of you.

[ Is it weird to introduce herself like that? Yes. It'll be weirder still if she doesn't hear anything back, so do say hello to the sweet princess, won't you? ]

Alternate 1st Person
[ Having found her way to a town, Estelle looks around her surroundings, musing over the public channel. ]

Traveling is always exciting when you're with people you know, but when you're on your own for the first time, it's a little scary, isn't it? Perhaps it's just me - I've never traveled by myself before. It's a bit lonely this way; back home, I had Yuri and the others with me.

I'm still a little lonely for my friends and my home, but there are so many new experiences and things to see here, I can't feel sad for long. This world is amazing - and the people are so interesting. Just think of the things I can tell my friends when I see them again! Everyone here is so different --oh excuse me! [ Pardon her while she harasses someone. ]

Is there a library in this town? I'd love to learn about this world's culture... and these flowers are beautiful - what do you call them?

[ Silent for a moment as she listens to the woman selling the flowers, she thanks her and move on, turning her attention back to the neglected feed with an embarrassed chuckle. ] I-I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself. I love seeing people and new cities, - it's the best part of traveling around like this. Like those flowers - Maybe you've all seen them before, but for me, every flower is individually beautiful by itself, from the shape of the petals to the length of their stems.

I feel like I have to learn as much about this world as possible. Like this ...Great Seed - and that voice. I apologize if it seems that there's a lot I don't understand, but I'm still learning about the world, and myself. It's one thing to read about it in a book, but to experience it truly first hand ...!

[ An excited tone fills her voice then. ]

Oh! I can hardly wait!

3rd Person -
The soothing sound of waves almost lulled Estelle back to sleep, but it was also that soothing sound of waves that alerted her to something being "off". They hadn't been anywhere near an ocean when they were traveling, so why did she hear the ocean? Well, there was the waterfall near Heliord, but that was a very different sound from an ocean. Furthermore, her bed felt much sandier and harder compared to her bed of a few minutes ago. Strange. She opened her eyes slowly, face to face with a very small hermit crab that was wondering just what she was doing lying on the ground. The crab wiggled its feelers at her.

"Oh!" Startled, she sat upright quickly, only to laugh at herself. "Oh how silly - I --"

It was then that she noticed her companions were nowhere to be seen. "Where...am I?" She wondered to herself. Rather than be frightened for her situation, she was curious - the thought of being afraid hadn't even occurred to her. Certainly she wanted answers, because the ones she was coming up with hadn't made any sense yet. "Yuri?" The breeze tossed her words aside. "Karol? Judith?"
The echo of those names went largely unanswered. ".... Repede?" She called finally, hopeful.

A sudden breeze stirred, fierce enough to toss the short pink locks of her hair. She raised a gloved hand to shield her face and push her hair out of the way. It was then, that she heard the voice. It wasn't a voice that she had heard before, but it was pleading, almost desperate all the same. A woman's voice, almost whisper soft and easy to miss, spoke the words. "Please... save this world... and..."

Estelle's eyes snapped open again. The voice was so faint, she almost couldn't hear it. Still sitting on the ground, she looked around. "Hello? Is someone there?" She listened for the voice again, an anxious, uneasy look on her face. The wind stirred one more time, bringing with it the final words from the woman, whoever she was. It was even fainter - she wondered if she wasn't imagining it this time.

"... that troubled soul..." The speaker didn't reveal itself, but the plea didn't fall on deaf ears. Estelle didn't know anything about this world, but if someone, or even the world itself, was in danger, she wanted to help put things right.

"Troubled soul?" Estelle murmured to herself. "What does that mean...? Who's troubled soul?" She slowly got to her feet, a hand absently brushing grains of sand off of her dress. Still lost in thought, she cast her gaze over the ocean. "Save this world ...but... how?" Where was she? How did she get here? And where were her friends?... these questions, it would seem, would be largely unanswered for a while.

With sudden inspiration Estelle realized - if she wanted answers, they were likely to be found in a town...and if her friends were taken to this place too, then that's the first place they would head. Without a map, that would prove difficult - but not impossible. With determination shining in her eyes, she set off into this new world. She was lucky that whatever power brought her to this world had not left her completely defenseless. Her shield was still firmly affixed her right side, and her rapier was in its sheathe on her right. Hopefully, she wouldn't run into any really dangerous monsters before reaching town.
