ICONS
Can I edit your icons?
No. As any other icon maker will you tell you, I make icons a certain way and I expect them to stay that way in their use. Do not add text, borders, brushes, etc. if you intend to use my icon. ( back to top)
Will you edit an icon for me?
Um, no. I can't take the time to do that, and as I said above, I make icons how I like them. If people start requesting I edit them, I'll end up spending too much time editing icons and not enough making new ones. ( back to top)
Can I use your personal icons?
If I don't post them to this journal, you can't use them. Sometimes I'll use an icon on my personal journal for awhile before I manage to post it here. You can be patient and wait, or you can simply comment when I use that icon and ask if you can use it too. ( back to top)
Why shouldn't I hotlink?
You're stealing someone else's bandwidth, that's why. I used to use boomspeed for all of my icons, but I recently changed to photobucket. The free photobucket account means that if you hotlink, it eats up the bandwidth, and other people are no longer able to see that image. ( back to top)
Why and how should I credit you?
You should credit me because it's the right thing to do. Also, if someone else sees an icon you're using, they can easily find who made the icon and won't have to pester you about it. Everybody wins. Icons should be credited through the manage userpics page.
Go to Manage -- Userpics. You should reach this page. You can put the username of the creator in either the keywords or comments section.

Do you take icon requests?
Not exactly. If you ask, "Will you make me a Gambit icon with this image that says this, I won't do it. If you say, "Would you be able to post more Firefly icons?" I'll see what I can do. ( back to top)
Can I use your textless icon as a base?
No. Textless icons are not bases and are not to be edited. If I post a base, I will specifically say "this is a base" and you can use it however you wish. If you want me to post a base that I've used, I'll see what I can do. ( back to top)
What do you make icons of?
My icon posts are usually multi-fandom and random. I make icons of X-Men, Firefly, Harry Potter, actors and musicians that I like, movies I like, etc. A look at my tags list should give you an idea of my subjects. ( back to top)

TEXTURES
What is a texture?
A texture is used in icon making to add depth to the icon. There are a lot of different types of textures. Color textures, light textures, grunge textures, etc. ( back to top)
Can I use your texture?
I occasionally post textures that I've made. You may use these. ( back to top)
How should I credit your texture?
You do not have to credit me every time you use a texture of mine. Simply making up a resources list and including my username in it will suffice. ( back to top)

TECHNIQUE
Where did you get that texture/brush/font from?
My resource list can be found here. If you want to know a specific texture/brush/font, comment on the entry I've posted the icon at, and I'll try to answer. I usually know the username of the creator of textures and brushes, but I can't always remember what font I used or where to get it. ( back to top)
How do I make use of your resources?
It's easy. Check it out, check out the websites or usernames, and go wild. ( back to top)
How did you make such-and-so icon?
I rarely post tutorials on how to make an icon. If I get enough requests, I might do it. If I've used someone else's tutorial on a specific icon, I'll always give the name of the creator of the tutorial in the post. ( back to top)
What program do you use?
I used to use Paint Shop Pro X. Currently I use Adobe Photoshop CS3. ( back to top)

MISCELLANEOUS
Why don't you respond to all of your comments?
I try to respond to all of my comments, but sometimes I get behind, and after a week or so, responding just seems pointless. I do appreciate the comments that I get, though, and it helps me figure out what sort of icons are liked best. ( back to top)
Will you post the screencap/image you used for an icon?
Possibly. If it's a screencap, I'll probably just link you to the website I got it from. If it's an image I used, say, from a comic, I'll see what I can do. ( back to top)
Can I friend you?
Of course! If you like my icons, friending it will keep you up to date on it. Let me know you're interested by replying here. ( back to top)
Why don't you friend back?
If you haven't commented to my friends-only post to let me know you're going to friend me, I will not friend you back because you might be a creeper or a robot and I'm not a fan of either. ( back to top)
